La Diabla Night Club & Lounge — How We Designed Denver's Most Talked-About Nightlife Destination

When the owners of La Diabla Night Club & Lounge came to Visual Studio Plus, they had a vision: create Denver's most electrifying Latin nightlife destination in the heart of LoDo. What they got was something beyond a design — they got a destination that people talk about before they even order their first drink.

The Brief: Bold, Sensory, Unforgettable

Located at 1512 Curtis Street in LoDo — Downtown Denver's most vibrant entertainment district — La Diabla needed to stand apart from every other nightclub in the city. The client wanted a space that felt unapologetically bold and alive, one that could transition seamlessly from an intimate evening lounge to a high-energy nightlife destination without losing its identity or soul.

Visual Studio Plus was brought in for the full interior design — from initial concept through construction completion. Every material, every fixture, every lighting decision was made by our studio.

The Main Lounge: Red Leather, Living Walls, and a Goddess

The main lounge anchors around tufted red Chesterfield sofas, living green walls that cascade from floor to ceiling, and a dramatic hand-painted goddess mural that commands the entire room. Arched niches with backlit tropical foliage create warm, intimate VIP areas that feel like a secret garden within the club.

The contrast is intentional: the boldness of red leather against the organic softness of living greenery. The femininity of the goddess mural against the raw energy of the industrial ceiling. Every tension in the space was designed to create feeling — not just atmosphere.

The Bar: Where Marble Meets Botanical Drama

The bar was designed as the experiential centerpiece of the space. A full marble countertop sits above a hand-painted decorative tile fascia, framed in warm LED lighting that makes every bottle on the back bar glow like a jewel. Blue velvet stools with brass legs line the bar beneath hanging floral chandeliers — a collision of glamour, garden, and Latin warmth that is entirely intentional.

The material palette was chosen to engage multiple senses simultaneously: the cool smoothness of marble, the soft texture of velvet, the warmth of brass, the organic life of hanging botanicals. This is what we call Sensorial Design — and it is the foundation of everything Visual Studio Plus creates.

The Detail That Became Denver's Most Photographed Restroom

Perhaps the most talked-about element of La Diabla is the women's restroom — and that is entirely by design. When guests disappear for two minutes and come back saying 'you have to see the bathroom,' that is sensorial design doing exactly what it was built to do.

The restroom is tiled floor-to-ceiling in emerald green penny tile, accented with blue marble panels, brass fixtures, pink ceramic vessel sinks, and ferns cascading from LED-lit cove ceilings. It is a fully immersive environment. Guests photograph it. They share it. They come back because of it. A restroom that drives repeat business — that is the power of intentional design.

The Result: A Denver Landmark

La Diabla opened in LoDo and was immediately featured by Denver Vibe as one of the city's most stunning new nightlife destinations. The club has built a loyal following — over 5,400 social media followers — with guests consistently praising the ambiance, the energy, and yes, the restroom.

This is the standard of work that Visual Studio Plus brings to every hospitality project in Colorado. Not decoration. Not furniture placement. A complete sensory destination — built from concept to completion — that drives revenue, loyalty, and word of mouth long after opening day.
