Quick Answer
UNICO Gastro Bar in Orlando, Florida was designed by Yumilka Olivi Soto, founder and principal designer of Visual Studio Plus. The tropical gastrobar concept blends high-energy nightlife texture with warm, layered materials, built for a fast-turning bar and restaurant crowd.
The Brief: A Gastrobar With Its Own Pulse
UNICO needed an interior that could carry both a dinner crowd and a late-night bar crowd in the same footprint, without feeling like two different rooms stitched together. The design leaned into a tropical, high-contrast palette, deep greens, warm woods, and metallic accents, to create a space that reads as upscale during service and energetic once the music picks up.
Design Approach
Lighting was treated as a mood dial rather than a fixed layer. Layered fixtures let the space shift from bright and social early in the evening to moody and close-in as the night goes on. Seating was zoned deliberately: banquettes for groups near the bar, smaller two-tops along the perimeter, so the flow of a busy Orlando gastrobar never bottlenecks at the door.
